Restorative dentistry
Main aim of restorative dentistry are healthy, clean and functional teeth, which is achieved by removing and repairing cavities and more importantly by patients compliance in oral hygiene instructions.
One of the most common reasons for visits to dental office is pain or aesthetics, which both can be caused by cavities. Dental cavity is non-infectious disease of hard structures of tooth that leads to its decay. It is most commonly located in a narrow space between two teeth and it hard to spot while brushing, therefore it is important to have regular check ups at the dental office.
Endodontics
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerning dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of a tooth. Some of the signs of pulp inflammation are spontaneous pain, especially during sleep, pain relief on cold stimulus and pain during biting. Although, inflammation of the pulp without simptoms is more frequent so it is important to have regular controls at the dentist.
Eventhough use of implants offers possibility of rehabilitation of any form of edentuolous patients, it is still trying to heal teeth with inflamed pulp. It is always better to save any tooth that has a chance of staying in its place.
